Job summary

Ohio State University in Columbus is seeking an Assistant Coach for Artistic Swimming. The position supports the Athletics | Synchronized Swimming department, coaching athletes, teaching fundamentals, and coordinating with the head coach on practice schedules, travel, and recruitment.

Responsibilities include assisting in team selections, adhering to NCAA rules, and monitoring student academics. The role operates within a collaborative, innovative team environment and is subject to background

Qualifications

  • Coaching experience at the intercollegiate level is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of synchronized swimming is required.
  • Experience with NCAA rules and regulations is desirable.

  • Coaches technique and strategy for the team.

Job Description

Instructs and teaches athletes in fundamentals of synchronized swimming, coaches technique and strategy. Assists in selection of team members and recruiting activities in compliance with conference, NCAA, and OSU rules and regulations. Assists the head coach in the coordination of administrative areas of program management including, but not limited to, scheduling of competitions and practices, travel plans, equipment. Monitors academic progress of student athletes; audits information from academic support services, ensures compliance with conference, NCAA, and University rules and regulations. This position works in a creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's Level Degree

Required Qualifications
  • Coaching experience and extensive knowledge of the sport of synchronized swimming at the intercollegiate level.
Desired
  • Knowledge and experience working with NCAA rules and regulations;
  • Experience working with a diverse population desired.

  • Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
