The Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD) and the College of Arts and Sciences (ASC) at The Ohio State University seek a Lecturer and ACCAD Archivist for a unique 50/50 appointment that combines teaching courses for the College of Arts & Sciences, with administrative duties aimed at preservation and interpretation of ACCAD's history.
The successful candidate will devote approximately 50% effort to teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses and 50% effort to leading an archival initiative that documents, preserves, and shares ACCAD's legacy through research, storytelling, digital media, and public exhibitions.
This position will collaborate with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and university partners to develop engaging digital and physical experiences that highlight ACCAD's impact on the fields of art, design, dance, theatre, music, and computing.

The Ohio State University Department of Art and the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design are situated in the arts district of the university where a dynamic community of faculty, staff, and students have access to many cultural institutions including the Wexner Center for the Arts, the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum, and many other resources and opportunities.
The Department of Art offers internationally recognized graduate and undergraduate programs in and across a broad range of mediums: art and technology, ceramics, glass, film and video, painting and drawing, photography, printmaking, and sculpture.
The department emphasizes interdisciplinary experience as well as the study of theoretical and critical activities of the studio artist.

The work at ACCAD is highly collaborative and engages with units across the university, community organizations, and companies in researching and prototyping complex projects with multidisciplinary teams.
ACCAD is dedicated to creating tools and sharing workflows, and working to improve technological accessibility, enabling more artists to engage and challenge technologies in their fields so this position would further build that capability.
