Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Assistant Club Manager in Training to gain leadership experience across key departments and drive club performance. You will partner with the Club Manager, lead teams, and ensure policy compliance and GOLD standards.

The role includes auditing, onboarding, training, and ensuring food safety and operational excellence, with potential forklift responsibilities and annual certification as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations management.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to lead and motivate a large team.
• Knowledge of shrink controls, merchandising, customer service, and omni procedures.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe certification; forklift operator required; open shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership across assigned departments (Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience).
• Recruit, hire, and onboard team members; conduct performance reviews and development.
• Oversee labor planning and scheduling; ensure coverage aligns with trends and budgets.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink management; ensure in-stock conditions.
• Enforce safety, audits, and operational readiness; support transitions and special projects.
