Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Philadelphia is seeking an Assistant Chief Test Engineer (ACTE) to support the Columbia Class propulsion test program at the Compatibility Test Facility (CTF). The ACTE will supervise the D789 test engineers, develop schedules, and coordinate operations with NSWC, NAVSEA, and contractor facilities.

The candidate should hold a BS in Engineering or equivalent and possess relevant Electric Boat experience or substantial supervisory experience in ship testing,

Qualifications

BS in Engineering or equivalent.
With Electric Boat experience, at least 1 year as a Shift Test Engineer.
3 years of technical or supervisory experience.
With no Electric Boat experience, at least 3 years of supervisory experience in ship testing/operations/construction.

Responsibilities

Support rotating shift work including 24/7 operations.
Direct test engineers, mentor, evaluate, and drive performance.
Plan, schedule and coordinate propulsion plant system operations and testing.
Coordinate test procedure review and program documentation.
Coordinate problem resolution with NSWC and other test support organizations.
Act as CTE in the absence of the CTE and supervise test personnel.
