Job summary

Contour Airlines in Smyrna, TN seeks an Assistant Chief Pilot to provide pilot leadership across all Contour domiciles and act as an active crewmember. The role requires 14 CFR compliance, coaching, and continuous improvement of flight operations processes.

The successful candidate will supervise pilots, ensure safe flights, and support Chief Pilot duties while maintaining company standards and regulatory compliance. A bachelor’s degree plus ATP certificate and aviation experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• U.S. Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
• Two years of experience with a regional or major airline.
• First-Class FAA Medical Certificate.
• Type rated, or capable of becoming type rated, on a Contour-operated aircraft.
• Must pass a DOT-required pre-employment drug screening and FAA/random drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise company pilots to ensure flights are conducted safely and in accordance with CFRs and policies.
• Ensure flight operations comply with regulations and company standards.
• Maintain qualified flight crew to meet company requirements.
• Conduct line supervisory flying to uphold pilot standards and professionalism.
• Administer disciplinary actions with Ops management and HR.
• Assist with administrative duties for the Chief Pilot’s Office.
• Promote process improvements and safety culture.
• Represent the company in industry and community activities.
