Job summary

Glen Rock Borough is seeking an Assistant Chief Financial Officer to support the CFO in all statutory duties and the preparation of the municipal budget/AFS and ADS. This is a full-time role with learning under an experienced CMFO and potential advancement.

Responsibilities include payroll processing, reviewing expenditures for budget compliance, maintaining ledgers, managing investments, cash forecasting, bank reconciliations, and monitoring internal controls.

Qualifications

• BS/BA from an accredited college or university.
• At least 3 years' experience in municipal finance.
• CMFO and/or QPA desirable but not required; CMFO classes provided for right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Assist CFO with preparation of the municipal budget/AFS and ADS.
• Assist with payroll processing and review expenditures for budget compliance.
• Maintain general ledgers, manage investments, cash forecasting, and bank reconciliations.
• Monitor internal financial controls related to receipts and disbursements; supervise daily operations.

Notice is hereby given that the full-time position of Assistant Chief Financial Officer will be available under the direct supervision of the Chief Financial Officer. This is an excellent opportunity to learn under an experienced CMFO with future advancement anticipated. The position is responsible for assisting in all statutory requirements and duties of the CFO. Duties include but are not limited to assisting the CFO with preparation of the municipal budget/AFS and ADS, assisting with the preparation and processing of payroll, reviewing expenditures for compliance with budget policies, maintenance of general ledgers, management of investments, cash forecasting, bank reconciliations, monitoring internal financial controls with regards to receipts and disbursements, and supervising daily operations. Applicants must be proficient with Microsoft Office and MSI/Edmunds software. Education/Experience: BS/BA from an accredited college or university. Candidate should have at least (3) years' experience in municipal finance. Certification: New Jersey Certified Municipal Finance Officer (CMFO) and/or Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) in good standing desired but not required. CMFO classes will be provided for the right candidate. Compensation And Benefits: This is a full-time position eligible for enrollment in NJ PERS. The Borough offers a competitive salary and benefits package based upon experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $90,000.00 based on experience.
