Job summary

The City of South Amboy is seeking a highly qualified and motivated CFO for a full-time role. The CFO will report directly to the Business Administrator and lead all municipal finance functions, including budgets, payroll, pension reports, and related financial operations.

Ideal candidates will have a valid NJ CMFO license and at least three years of local government finance experience, with strong skills in Edmunds software, MS Excel and Word, and the ability to work in a tight-knit,

Qualifications

• Valid NJ CMFO license is required.
• Minimum of three years of local government finance experience.
• Experience with Edmunds software, MS Excel and Word.
• Ability to function in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all municipal finance functions including budgeting, payroll and pension reporting.
• Manage bank reconciliations, accounting records and grant/escrow accounts.
• Provide financial forecasting and financial issue advisory to the City administration.
