The Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation, Arts and Cultural Heritage Division in Laurel, MD is seeking an Assistant Ceramics Studio Technician for the Montpelier Arts Center. You will assist with loading and firing kilns, maintaining the studio, and supporting classes and programs.
Qualifications include a college degree or technical certification and experience; knowledge of glazes and safety practices is a plus; lifting up to 50 lbs may be required, with some gallery and

Knowledge of mixing and maintaining glazes a plus. Knowledge of common hazards, and necessary safety precautions involved within a ceramic studio. Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks including lifting, bending, working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Knowledge of visual arts/exhibitions/gallery maintenance preferred.
