Assistant Center Director - Childcare & Preschool
The Learning Experience - Andover, MA
Salary: $65,000-$75,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
The Learning Experience - Andover is seeking an experienced early childhood education leader to join our team as Assistant Center Director.
This is an opportunity for a strong teacher, curriculum leader, or current Assistant Director who is ready to take on greater responsibility for team development, classroom quality, family experience, enrollment, and the day-to-day success of a thriving early childhood center.
Working closely with the Center Director, you'll help create an environment where teachers feel supported, families feel connected, and children receive an exceptional early learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Center Director in daily center operations
- Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and development of teachers
- Coach and mentor classroom teams through observations and ongoing feedback
- Help maintain appropriate staffing, classroom ratios, and schedules
- Support implementation of The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum
- Maintain compliance with Massachusetts EEC regulations and center policies
- Build strong relationships with current and prospective families
- Support tours, enrollment, family retention, and new family onboarding
- Assist with licensing documentation, staff records, and operational requirements
- Help plan family events and community engagement initiatives
- Step into center leadership responsibilities when the Center Director is unavailable
- Promote a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture
Qualifications
- Must meet applicable Massachusetts EEC requirements for the position
- Director I and Director II qualifications required
- Professional experience in a licensed childcare, preschool, or early childhood education setting required
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team-lead experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of classroom quality, licensing, ratios, and early childhood best practices
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable coaching employees and communicating with families
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
