Job summary

The GORSE Academies Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Catering Manager to support Elliott Hudson College's in-house catering team. You will help ensure high standards of food quality, hygiene and customer service while supporting day-to-day operations and staff supervision.

You will deploy strong organisational skills to manage food production, stock control and ordering, while deputising for the Catering Manager when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy catering/kitchen environment.
• Experience preparing and serving food to a high standard.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations, hygiene standards and HACCP principles.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to motivate and work with a catering team.
• Experience of stock control, ordering and monitoring food supplies.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Commitment to high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness.
• Experience with allergen management and food safety record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation of the academy kitchen and dining facilities.
• Assist with food production and service, stock control and ordering.
• Supervise catering staff and maintain a positive working environment.
• Deputise for the Catering Manager when required.
• Contribute to delivering a high-quality food offer in an educational setting.
