Job summary

The Carlton Academy, part of Redhill Academy Trust, is seeking a reliable Catering Assistant. This part-time, term-time role (32.5 hours per week) sits on the Redhill Pay Scale Band 5, Scale Point 28, with duties delivering nutritious meals in a busy school environment.

You will support food service, preparation and keep areas clean while upholding health and safety standards. DBS checks apply; join our team to help students enjoy healthy meals daily.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and a positive, motivated attitude.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to a busy school environment.
• A passion for supporting young people’s health and wellbeing through nutritious meals.

Responsibilities

• Operate a till in line with NRS cashless catering system.
• Assist with the counter service of food.
• Help with the preparation of hot and cold food.
• Keep all food preparation and service areas clean and tidy.
• Wash and dry equipment.
• Ensure the dining room is clean and tidy at the end of each session, including wiping tables.
• Take delivery of food stock and ensure they are to the required standards.
• Have a full understanding of the required level of health and safety, food hygiene and nutritional standards.
• Have good product knowledge.
