Job summary

Northern Middlesex YMCA is seeking an Assistant Camp Director for YMCA Camp Ingersoll in Middletown, CT. You will supervise a team of specialty camp counselors, develop camp curriculums, and collaborate with the Director to expand program offerings for school groups, corporate rentals and family programs.

The role involves leading trainings, evaluating staff, coordinating travel and vendor logistics, and growing group rentals and youth enrichment initiatives.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree or equivalent experience in the camp or related field.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience in outdoor education and adventure programming is preferred.
• CPR, First Aid and lifeguard certifications are preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of all specialty camp staff and programs.
• Assist with recruitment and interviewing of potential staff; run schedules and interviews.
• Coordinate travel and vendor logistics for camp operations.
• Create and adjust camp curriculums and supervise curriculum delivery.
• Plan trainings and lead staff development activities.
• Coordinate family communications and camper newsletters.
• Support the Director with events, fundraising, and community outreach.
