Job summary

Ascension Coffee is hiring a Café Assistant Kitchen Manager to support the Café Kitchen Manager in daily kitchen operations and uphold high standards for food quality and presentation. This role requires at least 45 hours per week in the café and a commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

You will lead by example, oversee kitchen tasks when the manager is absent, and participate in events such as off-site catering, while maintaining strong team communication and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Restaurant kitchen operations experience required.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to all locations.
• Able to work nights and weekends.
• Strong team building and clear communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, problem solving, and resourcefulness.
• High initiative with self-management and ability to take direction.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (~8 hours per day).

Responsibilities

• Serve as a working leader supporting food quality, safety, and production planning.
• Lead by example and oversee kitchen operations during absences.
