Job summary

Urban Outfitters in Philadelphia is seeking an Assistant Buyer to support the Buying team with planning product purchases, tracking samples, and analyzing trends. You will help curate a customer-focused product mix to hit business goals and communicate with internal teams and vendors.

Responsibilities include formulating assortments based on market insights, maintaining sample inventories, and using Island Pacific for order accuracy and reporting.

Qualifications

• clerical or retail experience preferred (1 year)
• Experience with data analysis and reporting is beneficial
• Familiarity with assortment planning concepts and vendor coordination

Responsibilities

• Support the Buyer in determining product mix based on market and private label products using data-backed insights.
• Assist in leveraging customer feedback and market trends to drive growth and profitability.
• help tailor assortments based on regional and demographic differences.
• Manage department samples: obtain, classify by season, log and track returns.
• Update assortment sheets; provide real-time information to buying and planning teams.
• Use Island Pacific software for order accuracy and basic analyses (style, item flow).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure on-time, within-budget orders.
