Job summary

Urban Outfitters is seeking an Assistant Buyer to support the Buying team by planning product purchases, studying fashion trends, managing samples, and reporting accurately. This role helps curate a customer-oriented product mix to achieve business goals and acts as a liaison for internal teams and vendors.

Key duties include determining quantities, price points, and product mix to ensure inventory meets customer demand and sales targets, maintaining assortment sheets, and using Island Pacific

Qualifications

• Fashion or merchandising degree or equivalent experience.
• 1 year of experience in a clerical or retail role preferred.
• Strong sense of fashion trends and data interpretation.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Product assortment: assist in determining mix of market and private label products using data-backed insights.
• Fashion and trend awareness: monitor trends via shows, publications and social media.
• Sample management: organize and track vendor samples and photo logs.
• Data management & reporting: update assortment sheets and use Island Pacific for analyses.
• Collaboration: communicate with peers, vendors and cross-functional teams.
• Other duties as assigned.
