Job summary

City of Largo seeks a seasoned supervisor to assist the Building Official in planning, organizing, and directing the Building Division. You will ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and local codes, and maintain high customer service standards.

The role reports to the Building Official. Responsibilities include supervising plan review and inspections, guiding staff, and supporting TRAKiT permitting and related processes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Architecture or Engineering or closely related field; ten years' experience; five years in supervisory role.
• Public agency Building Department experience preferred.
• Florida Building Code knowledge and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Plan Review and Inspection Staff, including hiring and performance reviews.
• Assist Building Official with division operations and act as Building Official when needed.
• Ensure compliance with Florida Building Code and local ordinances; maintain high customer service levels.
• Coordinate with City teams and attend meetings related to building codes and permitting.
