Responsibilities

• Plans and directs work of plans examiners, building inspectors, and permit technicians in the Building Services Division.
• Includes plan review, inspections, permit administration, and the development services center counter.
• Deputy Building Official performs plan review to support the Division and assists the Chief Building Official.
• Focus is on planning, organizing, and managing activities related to building codes and development processes.
• Supports Chief Building Official in customer outreach, support, communication, and problem resolution; acts in absence.
• Participates in administration and supervision of programs, budgets, and strategic objectives.
• Oversees front-counter operations, software systems, and digital plan review processes.
• Leads staff, shares knowledge, and develops division policies and procedures.
• Communicates with City departments and ensures high-performance customer service.
• Able to organize workload and balance stakeholder interests.
