Job summary

Seabreeze Management Company, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Building Engineer to oversee daily operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems in a residential high-rise governed by a HOA.

You will work with the Chief Engineer to ensure safe and reliable MEP performance and building upkeep. The role requires 5+ years in building engineering or facilities, BAS and safety systems know-how, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience as a building engineer, maintenance technician, or facilities professional, ideally in a high-rise setting.
• Technical certification in HVAC, electrical, or building systems preferred.
• Working knowledge of BAS, fire/life safety, and energy management systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and repairs of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and common areas; support preventive maintenance and log work.
• Respond to resident service requests promptly; troubleshoot issues and maintain safe spaces.
• Support vendor coordination and monitor BAS, fire/life safety, lighting controls, and water systems.
