Job summary

AKAM seeks a Chief Engineer to oversee all maintenance operations for a high-rise condominium, ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability. You will supervise the maintenance team, coordinate vendors, manage preventative maintenance, and support capital projects with the Board and Property Management.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive knowledge of building systems, and experience coordinating complex repairs while maintaining comprehensive logs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Hospitality, Construction, Facilities Management or equivalent (preferred) or technical/vocational training in engineering plus 5–10 years of experience.
• Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in building maintenance, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory role.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate maintenance personnel.
• Coordinate vendors, manage preventative maintenance programs, and respond to maintenance requests.
• Oversee major building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, elevators, life-safety, and emergency systems.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and warranty programs.
• Coordinate capital improvement and restoration projects and maintain records and reports.
