Job summary

White Cap is hiring an Assistant Branch Manager to lead branch sales and operations in Texas. This role supports talent acquisition, development, and retention while managing the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence and driving profitability.

The position involves procurement, inventory control, shipping, warehousing, and sales coordination, with focus on customer satisfaction, timely billing, and staff scheduling. A background in construction products and Oracle software is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in branch management or related roles.
• Must be able to operate a company or personal vehicle with an MVR check.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Experience with sales order software, preferably Oracle.
• Knowledge of construction and industrial products.
• Proficient with Windows applications.
• Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support talent acquisition, development, and retention of branch sales and operations associates.
• Manages the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence; assists in developing strategies to drive branch sales and profitability.
• Coordinate procurement, inventory control, shipping/receiving, warehousing, and sales per established policies.
• Investigate customer complaints and make necessary resource adjustments.
• Manage operational branch level problems and investigate inventory discrepancies.
• Serve customers and support counter and inside sales; ensure orders are billed correctly and timely; schedule staff and analyze budgets/variances.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

An Assistant Branch Manager at White Cap…

• Support the talent acquisition, development, and retention of branch sales and operations associates.

• Manages the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence. Assists the manager in developing strategies to drive branch sales and profitability.

• Assists with the coordination of procurement, inventory control, shipping and receiving, warehousing, and sales in accordance with the policies, principles, and procedures established by the organization.

• Solves problems at the branch level. Investigates customer complaints involving matters such as damaged items, overcharges, and shipment/delivery delays. Makes necessary resource adjustments.

• Manages operational branch level problems, investigates inventory discrepancies, and makes adjustments as required.

• Serves customers and supports the counter and inside sales functions as necessary. Ensures all sales orders are billed correctly and in a timely manner. Schedules staff and analyzes budgets and variances.

• Generally has 5+ years of experience.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• This position requires operation of a company vehicle, or a personal vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, the company will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift experience preferred.

• Experience with sales order computer software, preferably Oracle.

• Knowledge of construction and industrial products.

• Proficient with Windows applications

• Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks
