Job summary

City of Denton seeks an experienced Library Branch Manager to oversee daily operations, guide staff, and coordinate services to meet community needs. You will supervise a team, plan programs, and ensure accurate collection maintenance while representing the branch in absence of the Manager.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program.
• Several years of experience in public libraries and in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise branch staff, including hiring, training, and performance reviews.
• Manage daily operations and ensure high-quality service to library customers.
• Oversee branch makerspace operations, programming, and outreach.
• Analyze data for planning and contribute to strategic planning.
• Monitor budget and ensure cost-effective operations.
• Represent the branch in leadership meetings and in absence of the Branch Manager.
• Develop, interpret, and apply library policies and procedures.
• Coordinate reader's advisory, reference, and technical services.
