Job summary

Hancock County Board of Education is seeking an Assistant Boys Track Coach for OGMS. The role requires organizing practice and game plans, enforcing WVSSAC rules, and promoting good sportsmanship among student athletes.

The candidate will work under the supervision of the principal and athletic director, coordinating with coaching staff to develop fundamentals, team strategies, and safe athletic practices while adhering to district policies.

Qualifications

• Requires valid WV teaching certificate/licensing or WVDE substitute permit or high school diploma/GED.
• Must hold a valid CPR/AED certification.
• Coaches not professional teachers are required to complete WVSSAC Training and Certification Program.

Responsibilities

• Organize and implement practice and game plans in coordination with coaching staff.
• Develop high caliber and quality instruction.
• Teach individual fundamental skills, team play, team strategy and game rules.
• Handle athletic injuries and care for equipment.
• Supervise participants and discipline appropriately; ensure safety and sport ethics.
• Follow WVSSAC policies and school district directives.
