Job summary

Joel Barlow High School is seeking a dedicated Assistant Boys Soccer Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal role involves working closely with student-athletes to develop technical and tactical soccer skills while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.

The ideal candidate will possess strong soccer knowledge, excellent communication, and a commitment to student growth. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or obtainable before the season starts.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of soccer techniques, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire youth athletes.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willing to obtain prior to season.
• Background check as required by the school district.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during the soccer season.
• Passion for youth sports and promoting a positive athletic experience for all participants.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in planning and implementing daily practice sessions, drills, and game strategies.
• Provide instruction and support to student-athletes to enhance their technical and tactical skills.
• Help organize and supervise team activities, including practices, games, and team meetings.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and collaboration among players.
• Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
• Assist in the development of game plans and strategies for competitions.
• Support the Head Coach in maintaining team discipline and adherence to school policies and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team matters.
• Attend all scheduled practices, games, and coaching meetings throughout the season.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach or athletic director.
