Job summary

City of Fort Wayne seeks an Assistant Supervisor – Assistant Boat Administrator to oversee the Sweet Breeze riverboat operations, rentals, programs, and events. This hands-on leadership role blends event coordination with outdoor recreation, staff supervision, and strong customer service skills.

You'll supervise seasonal staff, coordinate with renters and vendors, manage safety procedures, and help create memorable experiences for residents and visitors along our signature riverfront attraction.

Qualifications

• Two years of event programming, recreation, hospitality, tourism, or related experience preferred.
• Experience working with public events, rentals, or outdoor recreation programs preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations, programs, events, rentals, and staff for boating activities.
• Coordinate programs, tours, rentals, and special events.
• Supervise and schedule seasonal staff, volunteers, contractors, and event support personnel.
• Engage with renters, vendors, caterers, and partners to ensure successful events.
• Assist with boat operations, maintenance, safety monitoring, ticket sales, and deposits.
