Job summary

Gannon University in Erie, PA is seeking an Assistant Coach for Baseball to support the Head Coach in all aspects of the program. The position is full-time and twelve months, with duties including recruiting, player development, scouting, game planning, and coordination of camps and clinics.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, collegiate coaching or playing experience, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; must pass NCAA recruiting/education modules annually.
• Collegiate coaching or playing experience; ability to recruit.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational and time management skills; ability to teach and coach lacrosse skills and strategy.

Responsibilities

• Recruits quality academic students who are also competitive student-athletes.
• Trains, strengthens, and develops student-athletes on a year-round schedule under the Head Coach.
• Learns, understands, and complies with PSAC, NCAA, and Gannon University regulations.
• Promotes and represents the University.
• Assists in development and implementation of a year-round strength and conditioning program for the team.
• Assists with the recruiting process, including on- and off-campus activities and events.
• Assists with scouting, film upload and exchange, game planning, and game day strategies.
• Assists in the development and implementation of camps and clinics.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
