The Assistant Coach for Baseball is a full-time, twelve-month position and is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of the Baseball program. The program competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Association ( PSAC ) at the NCAA Division II level. Must be able to support and promote the University’s Mission.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Recruits quality academic students who are also competitive student-athletes.
- Trains, strengthens, and develops all student-athletes on a year-round schedule, under the direction of the Head Coach.
- Learns, understands, and complies with all PSAC , NCAA , and Gannon University regulations.
- Promotes and represents the University whenever possible.
- Assists in the development and implementation of a year-round strength and conditioning program for the team.
- Assists with the overall recruiting process, including on and off-campus recruiting activities and events.
- Assists with scouting, film upload and exchange, game planning, and game day strategies.
- Assists in the development and implementation of camps and clinics.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope and responsibility and requirements of the job.
Required Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor’s degree; working knowledge of PSAC and NCAA regulations. Must be able to pass the NCAA recruiting/education modules annually.
- Experience: Collegiate coaching or playing experience, with an ability to recruit.
- Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated organizational and time management skills; and the ability to effectively teach and coach lacrosse skills and strategy.
- Certifications and Licenses: A valid driver’s license that is in good standing is required.
- University Mission: Must be able to support and promote the University’s Mission.

- Work is performed in a busy office, outdoor field instruction, and University setting. Travel is required.
