Job summary

Philadelphia University is seeking an Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach in managing the NCAA sport program, contributing to recruiting efforts, training sessions, and mentoring student-athletes to promote success in competition, academics, and personal development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Collegiate coaching or playing experience preferred (less than 1 year).

Responsibilities

• Supports the Head Coach in developing, implementing, and executing all aspects of the sport program, including training plans, competitive strategies, and student-athlete development initiatives.
• Collaborates with the Head Coach to identify, evaluate, recruit, and retain qualified student-athletes with strong academics, athletic ability, and character.
• Contributes to a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture by promoting sportsmanship, leadership, accountability, and holistic student-athlete well-being.
• Assists with day-to-day program operations such as travel coordination, equipment maintenance, and scheduling of practices and competitions; ensures efficient program functioning.
• Supports NCAA, conference, and institutional compliance and aligns with the university’s mission and strategic goals.
