Job summary

Gannon University in Erie, PA seeks an Assistant Coach for Competitive Dance to support the Head Coach in all aspects of the Competitive Cheer & Dance program. The role is full-time, 12-month, and focuses on developing dancers and coordinating year-round training.

Responsibilities include recruiting, training, safety compliance, choreography, and assisting with camps, clinics, and administrative tasks to promote the University’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Competitive collegiate and/or performance experience required.

Responsibilities

• Recruits quality academic students who are also competitive student-athletes.
• Trains, strengthens, and develops all dance student-athletes on a year-round schedule under the direction of the Head Coach.
• Learns, understands, and complies with NDA safety rules, AACCA rules, and Gannon University regulations.
• Promotes and represents the University whenever possible.
• Assists in the development of a year-round strength and conditioning program for the team.
• Assists with administrative tasks related to the Competitive Cheer & Dance program as requested by the Head Coach.
• Supports development of camps and clinics.
• Provides high-level instruction in hip hop, pom, jazz, and gameday; may include choreography.
• Teaches advanced tricks, turns, leaps, and specialty skills safely and with proper technique.
