Job summary

Plymouth State University is seeking a motivated Assistant Baseball Coach to support the Head Coach in developing a competitive NCAA Division III program and in fostering the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletes.

The role emphasizes player development, recruitment, campus engagement, and collaboration with athletics staff while maintaining NCAA and university guidelines. The position is stipend-based and located at Plymouth, NH.

Qualifications

• Collegiate baseball playing and/or coaching experience.
• Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, strategy, and player development.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with college-aged student-athletes.
• Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as required by the baseball schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach with planning and implementing all aspects of the baseball program.
• Assist with practice planning, game preparation, in-game coaching, and post-game evaluation.
• Provide instruction focused on fundamental skill development and baseball IQ.
• Assist with recruiting and retention of prospective student-athletes under NCAA regulations.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with prospective student-athletes, families, and coaches.
• Support scouting, evaluating opponents, and performance initiatives in coordination with university staff.
• Mentor student-athletes and promote academic success, personal responsibility, and leadership.
