Job summary

Plymouth State University seeks an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach to support the Panthers program, working with the Head Coach to run practices, recruit players, handle game prep, and maintain a positive, student-centered team culture.

You will assist with travel, equipment, and academic progress, while engaging in community outreach and fundraising initiatives; attendance at games and professional conduct are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement is a High School Diploma and experience in basketball coaching, playing, or recruiting.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategy, and player development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily basketball operations and program administration.
• Plan and conduct practices, workouts, and skill development sessions.
• Assist with game preparation, scouting, film breakdown, and in-game coaching.
• Recruit potential student-athletes in line with NCAA rules.
• Support academic progress, personal development, and student-athlete well-being.
• Assist with travel, equipment, scheduling, and other admin tasks.
