Currently, we are seeking a Facilities Engineer to join our team and be an essential part of our manufacturing operations. This person will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our manufacturing facilities, including buildings, equipment, utilities, construction, and grounds. The role requires a proactive, hands-on approach to facility management, focusing on safety, compliance, and cost-effective maintenance practices.
Your Role in Our Mission:
- Facility Maintenance:
- Oversee daily maintenance and repair activities for all facilities, including mechanical (product fixturing/jigging), electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Manage maintenance work order programs, train staff, and coordinate with contractors/vendors for timely repairs.
- Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and coordinate with EHS team for audits and training.
- Audit manufacturing systems regularly, ensure compliance, and implement corrective actions.
- Plan and execute facility projects during plant idle times.
- Develop contingency plans for critical equipment maintenance to minimize disruptions.
- Coordinate employee training and certification programs with EHS.
- Utilities Management:
- Monitor and optimize utility usage, including electricity, water, gas, and fuel.
- Identify energy conservation opportunities and sustainability initiatives.
- Space Planning and Management:
- Collaborate on facility layouts and space utilization to improve workflow.
- Plan and execute upgrades, renovations, or expansions, and develop cost justifications for capital expenditures.
- Budgeting and Cost Control:
- Manage facilities budget, forecast expenses, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Follow procurement processes for purchases.
- Emergency Preparedness and Response:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans with EHS.
- Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services.
- Vendor Management:
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance.
- Ensure vendor compliance with safety requirements.
- Environmental Compliance:
- Work with EHS to ensure compliance with regulations on hazardous materials, OSHA, wastewater, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of ten years of facilities management experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and regulations.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with facility management software and certifications like CFM or FMP.
