An employee in this job directs the 26-bed Community Correctional Facility treatment program designed to socially reorient selected reentrants who are on parole or are part of the State Drug Treatment Program (SDTP). Work includes assisting reentrants with the transition from a rigidly supervised institutional environment to a less structured community setting by aiding in the adjustment to pressures, problems, and rules of conduct of society; rebuilding social and economic ties; and developing a sense of dignity and responsibility. Work also includes implementing on-site security policies and procedures. An employee in this job may supervise professional and security employees. Work is performed independently within the framework of departmental policies and procedures and is reviewed by an administrative supervisor through conferences and evaluations of center operations.

Essential Duties: The following are essential job duties for this position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  1. Plan, develop, and implement operating policies and procedures for reentrants in a community corrections center.
  2. Implement and coordinate on-site security practices to ensure adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
  3. Work directly with contracted vendors to resolve deficiencies and ensure compliance with departmental standards.
  4. Coordinate and participate in the safe and secure return of reentrants/parolees to correctional facilities.
  5. Evaluate each reentrant’s progress and the effectiveness of individual program plans; revise as needed.
  6. Engage community service organizations, leaders, and employers to explain the community corrections program and secure their cooperation for reentrant employment opportunities.
  7. Conduct inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with standards.
  8. Ensure reentrants receive necessary professional, medical, and psychological services.
  9. Arrange social, educational, and recreational programs for reentrants.
  10. Supervise recordkeeping related to salaries, wages, and legal charges for reentrants.
  11. Prepare reports on program statistics, reentrant performance, community acceptance, and operational issues.
  12. Perform supervisory duties and participate in subordinate work as needed.
  13. Complete all facility operational inspections and assist with ACA accreditation.
  14. Oversee all case management and security staff, enforce disciplinary actions.
  15. Stay current with technological and procedural advancements.
  16. Uphold and promote company policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities: The Facility Director supervises one subordinate supervisor and 15 employees.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree or 3-4 years related experience, or equivalent.
