Bowie State University is seeking two Assistant/Associate Professor candidates in Special Populations Nursing to join the Nursing Department. The roles involve classroom and clinical teaching, with expectations for research and publications to support tenure and promotion.

Responsibilities include curriculum development and active participation in departmental and college-wide activities, including committees, grant writing, assessment, faculty development, mentoring, and academic advisement.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• Doctorate in Nursing or related area.
• Expertise in Maternity, Pediatrics, and/or Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
• Experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes.
• Active license to practice nursing in Maryland, DC, or a compact state.
• Strong preference for didactic experience at the collegiate level.
• Record of scholarship and service at program/department/university levels preferred.

• Other areas of responsibility include curriculum development;
• participate in departmental and college-wide activities and committees, such as, grant writing, assessment, faculty development, mentoring student projects, and academic advisement.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• Doctorate in Nursing or other related area.
• Must have expertise in Maternity, Pediatrics, and/ or Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
• Strong preference will be given to candidates with didactic experience in the main area of teaching at the collegiate level.
• A strong, demonstrated record of clinical expertise, experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes is required.
• Expertise in primary care throughout the lifespan is required.
• Must hold a current or be eligible for an unencumbered license to practice nursing in Maryland, Washington, DC, or a compact state.
• Evidence of an active record of scholarship and service at the program, department and university levels preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with total program evaluation and accreditation preferred.
