Job summary

American Song Archives in Tulsa, Oklahoma seeks an Assistant Archivist to lead accessioning and description work, manage both physical and digital materials, and support reference services. You will collaborate with the archives team and exhibitions staff to ensure proper provenance, order, and access.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and with donors, researchers, and students.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or near completion in an ALA‑accredited library program with archival concentration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to interact with donors and researchers.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, balance priorities, and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Accession new acquisitions and create accession records in ArchivesSpace.
• Process collections and develop finding aids; assist with reference and reading room duties.
• Maintain storage, inventory, and provenance records; collaborate with exhibitions and curatorial teams.
