Job summary

Magellan Health, Inc. seeks a Personal Financial Counselor assigned to Alabama to provide comprehensive financial counseling to service members and their families on military installations.

The role includes teaching workshops, one-on-one counseling, and coordination with DoD programs, with possible remote sessions and in-person briefings. The candidate will have 3+ years of financial counseling experience, a Bachelor's degree or combination of education and experience, and relevant AFC/CFP/ChFC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish may be required.
• Able to obtain a Tier 2 background investigation.
• One of AFC, CFP, or ChFC certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
• Assist in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute informational financial materials for service members and families.
• Coordinate and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
• Conduct briefings and referrals outside counseling sessions as needed.
• Utilize virtual counseling or electronic modes of communication (secure video/online chat).
• Maintain DoD protocol in duty to warn situations.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision and training.
