Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Associate degree plus 4 years' experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's.
• High school diploma plus 6 years' experience may be considered.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen; fluent English; bilingual in English/Spanish if required by contract.
• Ability to obtain Tier 2 investigation and pass OCI disclosures.
• Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develops informational financial materials for service members and families.
• Coordinates and provides a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
• Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilizes virtual counseling and secure communications as required.
• Manages duty to warn situations per Department of Defense protocol.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in supervision and program reviews.
• Participates in trainings, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities.
• All other duties as assigned.
