Job summary

Investar Bank National As seeks an experienced Special Assets Officer to manage the resolution of impaired credits, including nonaccruals, workouts, litigation and OREO. The role requires coordination with senior management, lenders and external counsel to protect recoveries and minimize losses.

The ideal candidate has extensive secured lending workout knowledge, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and a track record in risk rating and reserve allocation within a banking environment.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage workouts and recoveries for non-performing credits.
• Strong negotiation, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience analyzing financial statements, pricing and restructures for problem loans.
• Familiarity with bankruptcy, litigation, and collateral processes.
• Ability to work with external counsel and maintain management reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manages resolution of non-accrual, workout, litigation and/or bankruptcy credits including OREO.
• Collaborates with lenders, Credit Officers and senior management to develop workout strategies.
• Analyzes financial statements and contract structures to propose modifications that maximize recovery.
• Provides timely reporting to Bank management on managed accounts and reserves.
• Maintains relationships with outside collection agencies and attorneys; ensures compliance with laws and policies.
• Assists with risk ratings and reserves, and supports cross-functional teams as needed.
