Job description

Why join this team

Protect UNFCU’s assets by assessing the quality and effectiveness of controls related to collections policies and procedures. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support and provide insights on past due accounts, bankruptcy, foreclosures, and workouts.

NYC Salary range: $68,710 - $75,000 annually; compensation is commensurate with geographic location.

This position is expected to be hybrid.

What you'll do

  • Uphold UNFCU’s mission, core values, and guiding principles by providing exceptional service to colleagues and members, demonstrating our service excellence behaviors.
  • Monitor and report on collections activities, including bankruptcy reporting, recovery transactions, and UN separation clearances, ensuring accuracy.
  • Verify and report consumer loan deferments and mortgage forbearances monthly.
  • Quarterly verification of accounts assigned to collection agencies within SLA, FNMA/FHLB/Freddie Mac reporting via eMaqcs Plus, and timely, accurate PMI reporting.
  • Prepare files for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure workout, foreclosure, and bankruptcy documents and timelines meet SLAs.
  • Track bankruptcy payments as needed.
  • Review late notice processes periodically.
  • Review and recommend updates to procedures and policies, verifying controls.
  • Monitor disability claims processing for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in ensuring accurate credit bureau reporting, including loan settlements and NSF accounts.
  • Provide courteous, professional service to all UNFCU employees and members, responding to inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Prepare monthly summary reports for management.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all member information.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and UNFCU’s Code of Ethics & Business Conduct.

What we're seeking

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, analytics, or business intelligence preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality control functions and reporting with administrative responsibilities.

What makes you stand out

  • Knowledge of CFPB and FDCPA.
  • Working knowledge of collections procedures, loan underwriting, bankruptcy code, and relevant regulations.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
