Job summary

STCU in Oregon seeks a Special Assets Officer to manage delinquent real estate loan accounts, overdrawn shares, repossessions, asset recovery and bankruptcies. You will minimize loan losses while serving members and the credit union with integrity.

The role requires independent decision-making within policy, strong knowledge of recovery processes, and collaboration with attorneys and vendors to ensure compliant outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certifications: Consumer Credit Counselling Certificate preferred.
• Job Experience: 3+ years in real estate/consumer collections or related financial work.
• Software: PACER, COVIUS, Freddie Mac Servicing, Temenos; MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage delinquent portfolios and coordinate recovery actions.
• Recommend loss mitigation strategies based on risk assessments.
• Support legal recovery with attorneys and vendors per policies.
• Ensure compliance with FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA, and SLAs.
