Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an experienced Asset Protection Supervisor at our Westland, MI store to lead the AP team and partner with store leadership to deter theft and shrink through strong controls and people development.

You will oversee investigations, safety initiatives, and ensure policy compliance while maintaining a culture of integrity and accountability. This role requires 1–2 years of supervisory and investigative experience and a strategic mindset.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of retail experience.
• 1–2 years of investigative experience preferred.
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Leads Asset Protection team including hiring, performance reviews, providing timely feedback, scheduling within budget standards and overall performance as it aligns to company programs and initiatives.
• Investigates internal/external losses and criminal acts and ensures store-wide execution of deterrence methods, including merchandise protection, by teaching, training and follow up to store leadership.
• Serves as a permanent member of the store’s Safety Committee team and promotes the 200% safety accountability expectation.
• Performs safety audits to identify unsafe conditions and behavior, then determines and implements remediation strategies.
• Ensures physical security of assigned unit, e.g. AP technology, fire protection systems and related alarms; maintains key control and training.
• Develops and implements strategies related to shrink plans and ensures Asset Protection goals are met.
• Maintains professional standards within the AP office as a point of contact with authorities.
• Reviews financial reports and area processes to identify root causes and supports resolutions with leadership.
• Conducts inventory assessments and participates in store meetings and trainings.
• This role may perform other duties as assigned.
