Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Asset Protection leader to oversee shrink prevention, safety, and team development across stores.

You will collaborate with Market Asset Protection and Store Leadership to enforce integrity and operational excellence while ensuring 200% accountability. Responsibilities include leading the AP team, conducting investigations, serving on the Safety Committee, auditing safety practices, securing physical protection, and analyzing financial reports to drive resolutions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• 1 - 2 years of retail experience.
• 1 - 2 years of investigative experience preferred.
• 1 - 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to think strategically and make discretionary recommendations and decisions.
• Ability to proficiently delegate tasks to ensure completion at multiple units.
• Ability to prioritize time to achieve the greatest positive impact to the organization.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to analyze financial reporting tools including Shrink, P/L statements, Risk Assessments and Exception reports.
• Strong investigative skills/techniques.
• Skilled in interviewing and interrogations tactics (Wicklander preferred).
• Understanding of the criminal and civil justice system.
• Understanding of Organized Retail Crime.
• Understanding of retail operations (cash office, receiving, pharmacy operations) and product protection strategies.

Responsibilities

• Leads Asset Protection team, hires, reviews performance, and schedules within budget to align with programs.
• Investigates internal/external losses and crimes; ensures deterrence methods and training are applied store-wide.
• Serves on the Safety Committee and promotes 200% safety accountability.
• Conducts safety audits and implements corrective actions.
• Ensures physical security of the unit, alarms and access controls are operational and staff trained.
• Develops and implements shrink strategies to achieve Asset Protection goals.
• Maintains professional standards and serves as liaison with external authorities.
• Reviews financial reports to analyze root causes and collaborates with leadership on resolutions.
• Conducts pre- and post-inventory assessments and analyses.
• Attends store meetings, orientation, and department meetings on AP topics.
• This profile may include other duties as assigned.
