Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking an Asset Protection Agent in the Gaithersburg area to help keep customers, teams, and brands safe. You will partner with the store ER team to prevent shrinkage, investigate theft, and recover losses to keep merchandise available for customers.

You’ll use video surveillance and RFID data, prepare detailed reports, testify when needed, and work with store leaders and law enforcement. Licensing requirements apply in select states.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft using good judgment and conduct quality apprehensions per policy.
• Identify theft trends via technology, reporting, and surveillance.
• Lead shrinkage reduction through action plans and standards.
• Support internal investigations using reports and surveillance data.
• Investigate internal theft with AP leadership and investigations teams.
• Monitor activity with video systems and aid item-level investigations.
• Maintain safety of customers and staff; respond to incidents and report.
• Lead shrinkage awareness, audits, and training within the store.
• Serve on the store Emergency Response Team (ERT) and participate in training.
• Prepare prompt reports for high-profile incidents and investigations.
• Testify in court when summoned; build partnerships with local authorities.
