Job Description
Position Purpose:
The Asset Protection Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud, as well as supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store(s). They utilize various tools to minimize loss, including identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV footage and exception reports, monitoring physical security, auditing Electronic Article Surveillance systems, and promoting a shrink elimination culture within the store. Other responsibilities include preparing accurate case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries, preserving evidence, interacting with law enforcement, and testifying in criminal and civil court proceedings. The Asset Protection Specialist must report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and perform their duties in a manner that minimizes risks of injury to themselves, colleagues, vendors, customers, and the company. They are expected to demonstrate integrity at all times, respond to asset protection and operational concerns, and focus on store-specific business objectives while supporting key asset protection and operational responsibilities.
