Asset Protection Security Specialist (HR) (Finance)

Position Summary: Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short, and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins. Fred Meyer requires all associates to perform tasks safely, adhering to corporate policies and legal standards. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and structure.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field.
  • Retail security or law enforcement experience.
  • Ability to pursue ongoing education.
  • High school diploma or GED, or relevant experience.
  • Minimum age: 18 (or 21 in Alaska).
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Familiarity with loss prevention terms and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver excellent customer service.
  • Detect, deter, and detain theft suspects.
  • Prevent internal and external theft through proactive measures.
  • Monitor large shrink areas.
  • Report incidents to the Asset Protection Manager.
  • Support relations through communication and training.
  • Provide credible court testimony when needed.
  • Identify areas of high theft.
  • Ensure compliance with policies.
  • Support company initiatives.
  • Maintain flexibility for shifts, overtime, and weekends.
  • Perform essential functions with or without accommodations.
