Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures and organizational structure.
• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field required.
• Retail security experience and law enforcement experience preferred.
• Ability to continue education and stay current with loss prevention practices.
• Must be at least 18 years old (21 in Alaska).
• Ability to pass a drug test and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins.
• Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver exceptional customer service.
• Detect, deter and/or detain external theft suspects.
• Reduce dishonesty by preventing external and internal theft.
• Monitor large shrink areas in stores and report incidents to the asset protection manager.
• Provide credible court testimony and protect sensitive information.
• Support customer and associate relations through training and communication.
• Identify areas of high theft and promote company initiatives.
