Job summary

Kroger is hiring an Asset Protection Security Specialist (HR) in Bellevue, WA for an on-site role. You will prevent losses, deter theft, and support safety and integrity across store operations.

Responsibilities include deterring external theft, reporting incidents, training staff, and providing credible testimony while maintaining flexibility for shifts and overtime. Requires relevant security or law enforcement background and adherence to corporate policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice required.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in retail security or law enforcement preferred.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Familiar with loss prevention concepts and processes.
• Must be at least 18 years old (21 years in Alaska).
• Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures and organizational structure.
• Must be able to organize/prioritize tasks and projects.

Responsibilities

• Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Detect, deter and/or detain external theft suspects.
• Reduce customer and associate dishonesty by initiating and encouraging actions to prevent external and internal theft.
• Monitor large shrink areas in stores.
• Report incidents to the asset protection manager.
• Support customer and associate relations through communication and training.
• Provide credible court testimony.
• Identify areas of high theft.
• Verify compliance with corporate policies.
• Promote and follow company initiatives.
• Maintain flexibility to work any shift, overtime and weekends on a regular basis.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
