Job summary

Harris Teeter in Washington, DC area seeks an Asset Protection Coordinator to protect company assets at a designated store. The role focuses on implementing loss prevention programs, auditing procedures, and partnering with store management to reduce shrink and safeguard inventory.

You will lead investigations, train associates on security processes, operate CCTV and POS tools, testify when needed, and travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Criminal Justice, Accounting, Business Administration or Political Science; two years of direct experience in Retail Loss Prevention.
• Strong working knowledge of store operations including Cash Office, Front-end, DSD processes and Inventory Control.
• Must have prior experience with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint; able to complete basic formulas in spreadsheets.
• Must be able to fluently speak and write in English; ability to read and interpret audit standards, safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee protection of company assets at the assigned store and minimize shrink.
• Partner with Store Management to supervise contracted security and law enforcement personnel.
• Conduct Asset Protection audits and vendor verifications; train associates on loss prevention tools and procedures.
• Train Store Management in security equipment usage (alarm, CCTV, POS monitoring) and investigative techniques.
• Travel up to 50% and be willing to relocate as needed; may require weekends and holidays.
