Job summary

Harris Teeter in Charlotte, NC seeks an Asset Protection Officer to support store operations focusing on external theft prevention, integrity and safety. The role involves visible deterrence, alarm response, and case management in alignment with department standards.

You will train associates, supervise loss-prevention activities, and collaborate with management during critical incidents, including potential court testimony when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of retail experience.
• Ability to engage professionally with customers, shoplifters, and law enforcement.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and de-escalate critical incidents.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Take a proactive approach to theft resolution as a visible deterrent.
• Respond to Purchek alarm activations to engage within the department standard.
• Rotate between multiple entry/exits opposite the guard service on duty.
• Complete shoplifting apprehensions, preventions, and case management entries.
• Work shifts including mornings, mid-shifts, nights, and seven days a week.
• Coach, teach, and train associates with Asset Protection initiatives.
• Observe and report acts of associate dishonesty to supervisor.
• Support Emergency Response Team for major incidents in multiple areas.
