Job summary

The United Family is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard assets and provide a safe shopping environment for guests and a safe workplace for team members. Responsibilities include preventing loss, conducting surveillance, and following state laws under the direction of Asset Protection Management.

Qualifications include 18+ years old, strong communication skills, physical stamina, and the ability to multitask. Commissioned officers are preferred. Competitive wages and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Commissioned law enforcement officer preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform all physical aspects of duties (bending, standing, lifting, squatting, climbing, walking, running).
• Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude.
• Ability to function well in pressured situations and make good decisions.
• Ability to learn, use, and operate various computer software programs and other electronic tools.
• Ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests entering the area or department.
• Take proactive measures to minimize loss from all sources in the store.
• Follow corporate guidelines and applicable state laws; apprehend guests or team members who commit theft.
• Follow daily work schedule as assigned by Asset Protection Officer Manager.
• Conduct surveillance and investigations as directed by Asset Protection Management.
• Coordinate with Asset Protection management on shrink reduction programs.
• Conduct store level operational audits, walks, and safety checks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
