Job summary

Bloomingdale's is seeking an Asset Protection/Loss Prevention Detective to safeguard store assets and people. You will use technology and analytics to investigate incidents while upholding a high level of professionalism on the asset protection team.

You will identify shoplifters, participate in shortage reduction, and maintain building security with a flexible schedule to align with retail hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years related experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills with diverse customers and peers.
• Resourceful self-starter, works well independently or as part of a team.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local jurisdiction.
• Experience operating and monitoring CCTV systems.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome all customers while on the selling floor.
• Identify, observe and apprehend individuals for theft by shoplifting.
• Knowledge of state laws and statutes related to shoplifting and apprehensions.
• Participate in store shortage reduction program, working with departments.
• Maintain building safety and security; open and close the building when appropriate.
